A subject area I am interested in researching this semester is cancer and how certain illnesses can mimic cancer symptoms. I know that Histoplasmosis can mimic Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.
1)What causes cancer to spread?
2)What can help an illness mimic cancer?
3)Why is there such a divide in the quality of care between Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana and Chicago?
These are some interesting questions to begin exploring. I think that you could take all of these questions a little deeper than they are as stated. For example, you could consider the factors that make one area have better hospital care than another, etc. I would explore that a little more. This could be a relevant social topic as well because it addresses how people with poorer health care, without access to university hospitals, etc., might not get the best quality treatment for their illnesses or disorders.
